A tale of two Comets

Postby frediv » Sun Apr 27, 2014 8:19 pm

The attachment Black Magic 2.jpg is no longer available

Airfix Comet. Although nearly 50 years old the reissue model is quite accurate in shape but is lacking in detail. Extra work required: a rudimentary cockpit, vac-form canopy, landing light cover, replaced the cowling front with the item from the Heller Rapide and opened up the grill on the cowling and outlet vent at wing leading edge/ cowling junction. Scratch built metal undercarriage/tailskid, turned and polished aluminium spinners and wing mounted navigation lights.

Lovely Fred, keep em coming.
It's hard for me to get used to these changing times... I remember when the air was clean and the sex was dirty..

Brilliant Work Fred! Very impressed with the little scratch built 330SC - magnificent! Question - what did you make the aerobatic wing tip sights from - stretched sprue?

Cheers

Hello Adam,
A wire strand pulled from a wire brush and soldered.
