Bug Smashing Spam Can..1/48 Cherokee

Postby VH-WAL » Fri Feb 05, 2016 6:38 pm

Not the best.. I dropped it and smashed the nose, I'll push it to the back of the shelf.

A Royal Victorian Aero Club Cherokee was the first aircraft I ever flew in (1971). I went up for a trial instructional flight a week before my RAAF Pilot's course interviews and medicals.

What a little beauty there Wally!

Do you remember the ceiling mounted trim wheel with the 140? Never thought that much of a "feature"!

I too have great memories with the RVAC, plus one sad one. I did my RPPL with them back in 84, then my aero's endo and two years ago my formation endo with that resident intrepid aviator Capn Damo! Tragically, my very first instructor and the man who sent me solo in VH-ITE flew into a hill at King Island one foggy night. :(

Haven't done it for awhile, but it's always very cool to head to the RVAC Club for a burger and a beer and try to be loudest telling "there I was...." stories after zooming through the burning blue.

Cheers

Funny you should mention the window window trim handle, I made comment on it here :
