Had not thought much about it, but since I have a seat booked on our club bus to Expo I think I better get something sorted. I wonder if I can fit a NASA KC-135 in the bag?

Some thought about the Ansett model required. Was thinking of doing a 743 in 1/144.

As for the other Civil categories a Saudi VIP C-130 is taunting me to start it. (It has a civil rego so expect I can squeeze it in the civil category :D).

I will have to review the stash for other ideas as well.

Not sure what I will bring, I have done quite a few since expo last year so I have a few to choose from. Good news is that I have the time off but the bad news is that I will probably be flying down so my choice will be severely limited.

Since expo last year I have finished a Buffalo, Rumpler, Lightning,A-4 and the Mirage and have a few more on the go so it will be any of those or something else.

Hey Eric

Just putting my personal vote in here! Hoping you will at least bring the Lightning and A-4 down. Guessing you'll have the "Spirit" with you as well? I'm sure pretty well all of us want to see the incredible Concorde you're working on as well. What's the big deal bringing it - just book a seat for it on the aeroplane! Or, one of your work mates could possibly find room for it up on the f/d no? :D

Cheers

Capt Eric, with respect to all those others works-of-art of yours, there can be only one choice........ CONCORDE :D
Although I would love to see the A-4 in the flesh as well.

As much as I would love to bring the Concorde, it has turned into a bit of a basket case at the moment. I would not recommend the kit at all based upon the modification that I am currently having to carry out on it which means that it just wont be ready in time. Since I received a bit of an arse whooping in Large Scale Jets last year I am thinking about entering 1/72 armour instead.

Dude, get back on the horse! Judging is all relative to what the judge thinks looks nice isn't it. Two judges may come to completely different conclusions. I think there is a lack of transparency with the judging results as well - why not make them public? The judges just need to say "All results are final and discussion will not be entered into". Why can't we get feedback at Expo? The results have been done already. Feedback can show where the modeller can pick up their game - show what the judges are looking for etc. I do reckon you were hardly done by - particularly with the Meatbox. Until there is some kind of consideration for "degree of difficulty" with the build (yes I know hard to judge, but it can be documented) a good paint job and finish rules all other considerations it seems. I once voiced my opinions on this and got a ear bashing! We may as well all build OOB and concentrate on the painting and finish - get the same result it seems. Last year was a head scratcher - we've all been through it though. The answer is to become a judge I think - learn what they are looking for. I will try to get more involved in this if possible. Last year was impossible as I had the flu and probably should not have come down - certainly not on the Saturday as I was in a cold sweat! Wife indeed thought I was bonkers!
Me, I've got to pull my finger out and finish my 262 - Luftwaffe mottle hand cramp, here I come! ARGH!
