Expo builds

Postby Knotty » Sun Jan 24, 2016 6:45 pm

Just wondering what people have planned for expo ,.......... As in entries.
I know we have the Ansett display ,which should be great . What else will we see ?

Only about five months or so away :o :o
The only entry I have so far is a NASA T-38 Talon .

I don't know if I'll be there with work, or lack thereof, being up in the air. I've got my shitbox Ansett 737-200 for the ACAM display (Ray make sure it sits right up the back of the display). If I don't make it I'm not sure I'll enter anything this year. I CBF'd with references so my 2 civvy Spits and the black DH88 might make an appearance in the civvy category but that'll prolly be about it if I do enter something :)
Head A/CAM Phantom Phanatic, Shit Stirrer and Karma Bus Driver toot fkn toot

Ahhhhh crap.....Expo seems to be coming around quicker each year.
It's a provisional long-term projection at best, but I am hoping to have the Entex/Nitto 1:100 Concorde prototype "001" for the Airliner Category and the 1:72 NASA NP-3A, (and hopefully the 1:72 Gulfstream IV), for the Civil Aircraft Category.
As usual it is planned that A/CAM will sponsor those two categories, as well as put on its club display, and host it's annual A/CAM members lunch.

My build rate has slowed to a virtual standstill, and what I am managing to churn out is definitely not competition quality, so Expo is an unknown quantity for me at this stage. Plus, there are tentative plans afoot that could see me attending, but busy with other things.

Nothing wrong with the Pan Am Strat Kev. Maybe she could make an Expo appearance.

I have booked my flight and accommodation, I am planning to bring either the Stinson or Piaggio may be both I have ti finsih the Stinson and redecal the Piaggio though! nothing for any comp table though. Other possibilities I guess could be my Herons, Connellan and Riley converted Northern examples, these both being under the Ansett umbrella.

Good question Knotty!

I'll have my two Yak's - one still to be finished - you know the one's that were supposed to be finished last year!

I will have my 1/32 262 finished by then. It's still to be painted, decaled, etc.

I hope to have either a 1/32 F-104N finished or go back to finishing my 1/32 Pitts S-2S "Bulldog" - the late Jim Leroy's aeroplane. I have to very quickly decide which of these two to commit to. I have only done a tiny bit on the 104 and perhaps 10-15% of the Pitts. Still not sure, but the Pitts is more likely at this stage to be finished in time. I still have at least a month of work left on the 262, so finishing the 104 in time really is not looking good.

Cheers

Hey Wally

Please bring the Connellan Heron if you can - I'd love to see it. One of my mate's is a Connellan. It was his uncle's airline. If you bring it, I'll tell him and see if he can come to the show. He's a character and some of his flying exploits are legendary in the aerobatic community!

Cheers

I've just started a Shorts Skyvan for the Ansett display, and will possibly have a couple of civvy Mustangs to enter. I'd love to say I'll have a 1:20 Aero Subaru done, buuuut...
Pretending to do it TAC style with the big boys since 1987
Also, we don't need no steenkin' VLATs!
