I generally have to build with a story associated with the aeroplane. To me there are two stand out F-4 drivers - Gen. Robin Olds (USAF) and CDR Harley Hall. Olds to me is the very definition of fighter pilot. Officially he bagged 4 MiG's but it is well known that he purposely gave the credits for at least a couple more to other more junior pilots as he was told that when he got his 5th, he was out of S.E. Asia! So, his "up yours" to Washington was to do this. Paul - dude as you love that smokin' Double Ugly so much, you must read his book!

Second F-4 I hope to build one day will be a Blue Angels F-4J flown by CDR Harley Hall. After Hall commanded the Blues, he returned for another tour and was tragically shot down right at the very end of the war. For some reason, he was compelled to make multiple passes over a truck convoy and hit on the 3rd pass. He was seen to eject and make it to the ground and never seen or heard of again and remains MIA. Read about him if you like. He is featured in the movie "Threshold - The Blue Angels Experience" - also an absolute must watch.

Bio of Harley Hall

So, yes one day, I do hope to pay honour in my own little way to these legendary "Rhino" drivers.
