I have used this stuff a bit.. I am a bit pissed off with it cos it dries off in the applicator tube and you have to dig to get to the "wet stuff". I am not convinced of its permanence due to its non solvent base so I apply thin superglue to the filled and semi-dried joint...goes off hard and bonded to the plastic

Wally. With regards to the drying in the applicator tube, leave the end of the tube in a small bowl of water and it'll NEVER dry out again. By the time I've applied a few coats of primer then paint over the top, I don't think it'll go anywhere. I love the stuff :)

As for the Airfix panel lines, it's really a personal thing. I've seen the kit and personally I don't really have a problem with them. I hardly think it's a case of a ridiculous amount of effort. But then that's just me. The panel line debate will rage on for as long as the whole Foliage Green debate. And that just bores me to tears. I've built the Italeri kit and It wasn't to bad. I'll be quite happy for my next DC-3/C-47 to be an Airfix kit if I can find 1 under the cost of a kidney :? :? :? :? :? :?

That wouldn't be Games World by any chance, would it?

Yes it was Damo , you must know it well !!! Nothing like making a tidy profit on the kit .......if they sell at that price of course.!!

Yeah I'd like to know that too. $38 is a steal compared to other prices I've seen around :?

+1 for that.... it's not even any use filling nail holes in walls! It does fill the bin nicely though.

I might stick with the Tamiya bog, as it's wonderful shrinking "properties" may in fact work well for filling in the trenches of my Trojan and Dak. I'll experiment on the Trojan first as the panel lines are freakin ridiculous!

My Airfix C-47 turned up today - impressive kit! Look to be a gazillion parts - certainly not the Airfix I knew as a kid! Panel lines are heavy, but I think will be alright after being hit with primer and the "Rub n Buff technique I want to try on it. The Rub n Buff may go directly onto the plastic - not sure yet.

The interior colour is "Humbrol 226" - whatever that is?? Can anyone advise what interior colour a Aussie Dak should have? I'm guessing some light grey?

Adding to this post - I'm amazed I haven't wanted to build a Dak any earlier. Looking at this aeroplane in scale form sure shows off it's beautiful and classic lines.

Cheers

Adam
