Credit where credit is due!!!
By all accounts Wings 2015 was an outstanding success with big numbers and great feedback all around.
On behalf of A/CAM I wish to congratulate Brad , his dad, and all others involved with putting together and hosting what was clearly a professionally-run and well-received model show.
Good one lads, and perhaps A/CAM can have some formal involvement with and participation in Wings 2016.

It was a great event. Heaps of excellent entries and what they have done to the Museum exhibits in the last 12 months was an eye opener too. Just need to put up some signs on the tables in a few different languages saying "Don't f#%&*@g touch the models you little shits", after some models were broken by wandering hands. No serious damage to mine, but I did need to reattach the Tomcats nose and straighten the canopy.

My Mum enjoyed it too.

I echo Troy's comments here - it was a great event by all accounts. As for damage, my Rhino scored a hit and the N22 now has a door featuring variable positioning.. I suspect it was the same member of the public testing for moving parts that got your Tomcat along with mine and others ! Oh well, them's the breaks ( pun intended).

Yes indeed it was a great show to visit. I've commented over on the Ortenburg-Hobbies post about the show. Great turn out for a small competition with a good range of model types and standards. Smaller shows are great feeders for Model Expo, which could be intimidating for the un-initiated. I'll certainly enter next year. My kids had a great time in the Viscount, 737 and DC-9 cockpits playing "pilots". The Viscount and DC-9 cockpits have some live switches. adding to the fun. It is a very good move making some of these displays "live" and interactive - far more fun for the young and young at heart! It was great to see the Beaufighter again - always such a impressive beast.

Well done to the organisers of the competition and to those who entered - including A/CAM members Troy, Andrew, Kev and Uncle Les. I note you GMH aficionados failed to mention that there was also a Mustang & Shelby car competition right next to the museum! I only had a bit of a look, but there were some damn fine looking Pony cars! The museum was free of entry charge as part of this dual event - great idea! All in all a great afternoon with the billy lids.

Would have done better if I'd remembered my references! More importantly, it was good to catch up with some familiar faces, including Troy, Les, Andrew, and others. Good to get acquainted with Michel for the first time, too. Will be eyeing off some of those F-RSIN kits in the future!

Was a great event with great quality models on display. I reckon there was an anti-ACAM person going around as my 1/48 PC-9 and 1/32 Hawk had their canopies tested for closure fitting.

It is amazing though what parents will allow their children to get up to at such events. I saw one kid humping a table of 1/48 models for about 20 seconds but before I could get to him to tell him to stop, his father moved him away and then I observed a young girl throw a tantrum and throw herself under another table of models which I expected some to go flying as the mother dragged the girl out from under.

Anyhoo, it was well run by Brad and the co-ordinators and they should be pleased with their efforts. The museum is starting to take proper shape and hopefully they can progress even further with their plans.

He is 3/4 joking. Models were damaged, but it was by kids, not anti-ACAM'ers.
