Fisher Models RB-51 short run

Postby Adam the Akrodude » Wed Oct 14, 2015 11:08 am

Over at LSP, I happened upon this post by Paul Fisher. He's doing another short run of RB-51's plus three "September Fury's". Not sure if any Fury's are left, but if any of you want a RB-51, I can only advise to get one because it is a brilliant kit, dare I say work of art!

Here's the link.

Well Adam.....you have gone and done it again, (you truly are a BAAAAAD influence on me). I am now the proud owner of one of those three spectacular "September Furies" Paul had in stock.
It is now only fitting that YOU go and get yourself one, (consider this the retaliatory nuclear strike :D ).

Talk about dropping a nuke on myself! Time to play "duck & cover"!

Bloody had to order September Fury now didn't I - or face a endless stream of ribbing forever more! I've ordered his F-8C nose correction set too for a far off future project. Got to buy the Trumpy F-8E kit now plus some suitable decals for a Vietnam MiG killer - VF-162 or VF-211 I'm thinking. The Crusader was a legend of the skies and the VNAF was suitable terrified of them. F-8's used to chew up and spit out F-4's way back then and was one of the hardest navy jets of all time to land - particularly on the smaller "27-Charlie" carriers. The hook to deck clearance was only 10 ft hook to ramp! No wonder most of the 1,200 or so built were involved in mishaps. The F-8 was without a doubt the best dogfighter over Nth Vietnam and I must build one!

Alrighty then! Should we now declare a temporary ceasefire, or is it all out thermonuclear 1/32 plastic/resin purchasing war? When my wife finds out about this purchase (she most likely will!), oh crap - I'm a dead man walking! You can be the "US Navy blockade" and I'll be the "Russkies" backing down over Cuba! My wife and I had both agreed to a European inspired austerity spending freeze - opps!

I have been very bad purchasing way too many kits this year - all of which will take a shit load of time to build!!!!!

Confess RB Paul - you are among friends! ;)

What's the 1/48 Ryan kit like?

Cheers

My order for Sept Fury confirmed by the man himself. Looks like I have to start getting all the bits together now for a future F-8 build as well - ARGH!
