Yeah sure Ray. You keep dreamin mate. I can be a stubborn prick when I wanna be and this is right up there I tell ya. Hey Paul. No fear of piston twins at all buddy. I'm a huge fan of the DC-3, Mosquito, Cessna 404 etc as you know. It's just shittecs, most Beechcraft and probably even Pipers that I hold with such immense contempt 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-)

I suggest a sustained campaign of PMs, emails, texting, and forum replies, each containing at least one photo of an Aztec. Possibly even *evilly* changing his avatar to the Piper twin. Inundation may be well be the only way to get through..

Some wonderful ideas there Damo 8-) . I think I might investigate lifting an Aztec photo from Airliners.net and force-placing it as Paul's A/CAM avatar :D , (and YES Paul, I can do that hehehe). Remember......what ever we do, It is for your own good :D

You guys do realise that capet bombing in Nam didn't si it won't work here either. Bring it on bitches

Oh yes it did - speak to the residents in Hanoi late 1972. The BUFF's stopped the war and allowed the Americans to get their people out of the "Hanoi Hilton" and the other centres where US POW's were starved and tortured and get out of Vietnam. The BUFF's did a lot of damage and was truly the sound of freedom for those POW's - including such legends as John McCain, Leo Thorness, etc, etc, etc.

The F-105's, F-4's ,A-4's ,F-8's ,A-6's almost brought Hanoi to it's knees in 1967/68 - would have if Johnson & "Dr. Strange" hadn't so f@#$ed up the air war up North. Haiphong harbour should have been mined during Rolling Thunder as it was in Linebacker in 1972 - stopping all sea freight to the North. Had the BUFF's been used on Hanoi in 1965/65/67 instead of killing monkeys and making match sticks on the Trail, this would have shorted the war quite a few years and allowed the US to withdraw. The end result would have always been the same with the North taking over in any case, but probably well over a million lives would have been spared.

Peace through superior firepower baby! The BUFF crews truly had balls of steel flying over Hanoi in December1972.

Adam if i recall you liked flying a Yak 52..........that has a nose wheel

Honestly the 52 was intriguing and fun, but to me, even flying a Decathalon is more fun. There is no comparison between a Laser and a Yak-52 - Laser flies rings around a 52! The YAK-50 yes is similar to a Laser in aerobatic performance, but not the 52, as it's just heavier being a two-seat trainer - doesn't roll as fast, not as much energy, etc. The YAK-52 is a big heavy, clunky machine that squeaks and hisses - like some pissed off Russkie dragon! It's quite a complex machine as well - which suits some pilots but not others like me who like very simple machines. I can see how pilots can fall for the 52, as it takes a lot to master. To me, a Pitts and a Laser are far more rewarding from a aerobatic perspective - lighter and far more responsive. I also flew a Zlin-242 for a few years - another delightful two-seater "trike" aeroplane. Only issue with the Zlin is it's a bit heavy and very draggy much like the Yak-52 as it does the same job as a ab-initio trainer (have to dive quite aggressively to get minimum of 130 knots for a loop, whereas in a Pitts or Laser it's a pull from level flight in cruise. The Zlin has great thrust from it's three blade MT prop and you have full roll control with the wing fully stalled. Spins are wicked in the Zlin with it's metal wing and the spin fully wound up, it's not as easy to stop as a Pitts (just so nice to spin and flick roll in comparison). The Zlin-242, Yak-52 and CT-4 are very similar aeroplanes - all being designed and used as military ab-initio trainers and because of this job, they're not as fun to fly as a pure competition aerobatic machine.

There is just a "mystic" about tail draggers as well. T/O and landing techniques are difference and in the case of a Pitts - can be a damn site wild ride if not 100% on task! I liken landing a Pitts a bit like aiming for a open garage at 90 mph with the bonnet up!

Dude, I did not say the BUFF won the war, just greatly added the US at getting out of "Dodge" - that's history Jack! The US Congress lost the war when the North invaded the South in 75 and the US Congress refused to further fund any more support for the South.

The more you bitch and moan about Aztecs, the more air strikes you're calling in on yourself! We're just trying our best to help you Paul - let us help you get over this phobia. We're here for ya buddy! :D
