Uniquely Australian kit releases

Postby Capt NG » Wed Apr 23, 2014 12:52 pm

Following on from the wish list thread. It's probably a good time to see if we can conjur up support to get one of the local manufacturers in Australia to look at putting out some unique Australian Airline kits?

I know it's probably a tough ask, but it would appear the F-28 is a much sought after kit, as well as a good B727-100/200 both in 1/144 scale.

Ed, has there been any talk at Red Roo of such plans? We would have to show strong interest I'm sure for you to make it viable, but these kind of kits as well as accurate resin engines for 1/144 scale 727,737 and DC-9 jets would be popular here. Rather than seek these items from the USA, I'd prefer to support an Australian company, as I'm sure others here would. I'm sure there would also be those amongst us, knotty, Tony, Ray, myself to name but a few that could lend a hand in development of these said items.

Thoughts anyone.?

Thanks Scott,
Don't mind vacform but I mind the price!
Apparently there is a Platz model around somewhere in 1/200 as well. Long out of productions.

Ooh, Argosy. :D Four screaming Darts instead of two. My ears are starting to bleed now just thinking about it.

The superb Platz 1:200 Boeing 747SP. Quiet possibly one of the best 1:200 Airliner kits I have seen from any manufacturer:

This one has lived in my stash for quiet some years now.
As can be seen she is planned to be a Qantas 747SP 38.
After-market RR RB211 engines by Braz and Qantas decals by Hawkeye.
