Fingerprints...

...or the prevention thereof.
Dunno if it's just me, but invariably I'll end up with a fingerprint or two on a gloss finish. Is this kinda normal if you aren't wearing gloves when handling the model after painting? Or are gloss acrylics not very robust and susceptible to body heat? Frustrates the hell out of me!

I'm like you Damo - guess we're just crap modellers!

I look at it this way - I'm leaving my personal mark on my models this way - which no one else can reproduce! No question about ownership!

I've done this when rushing models - like my Yaks for instance. Perhaps the enamels eventually set harder, just take a lot longer to harden though - that would be my guess.

Try leaving the paint to dry longer. Also a coat or 2 of Future etc should fix the problem

I've left paint to dry for a couple of days after a coat of one-go...still get fingerprints and tape marks. Maybe I should try the real deal, ie Future, rather than one-go..

I haven't had a drama at all with one go. Do you use it neat or thinned (the one go) and what paint are you using?

Neat with a drop or two of windex.
Paints are either Gunze water-based, or Tamiya.

I have this problem with Floquil paints that give others a very good metallic finish. I can let the paint dry for a month and it still gets fingerprints all over it when I touch it. It must be a chemical reaction but the simple solution for me is not to use the stuff even though othershave no trouble with it. On the other hand, I don't have any trouble with white but then I use acrylic lacquers like Tamiya rattle cans. That might be one solution.

I don't put anything at all in my one go when I use it. I have started using rubber gloves when handling my models. Seems to save all sorts of dramas. I've tried Floquil paints (bright silver and old silver) and they went on very nicely and looked great. However they also rubbed off very easily with handling even with primer being used beforehand which was disappointing.

I use gloss a lot.. acyrlic, enamel and rattle can, I used to get fingermarks on all of them to greater or lesser extent (less for rattle can except for silver leaf then not so much finger marks but masking tape removal marks).

I now wait a minimum of a week drying time before handling / masking and now have fewer problems... I smell my models during the drying process.. if I detect slightest hint of paint / thinner smell I leave it even if the paint finish is hard to the touch and leaves no finger mark, I find with more prolonged handling especially with firm finger pressure my body heat can soften the what appeared to be dry paint.
