Eric knows I was just ribbing him. I like to keep him honest so that his head still fits in my car the next time he needs to be picked up from the airport.

I'm with you Kev! Nationally, we've just seen what over-inflated ego's can do! So, it's really in our "duty of care" to ensure Eric's ego doesn't get out of control! At A/CAM, we care for our members!
I'm sure Eric knows all this is just a bit of light hearted banter - yes, some of it at his expense! As he admits, the big fella can dish it out too!
I certainly admit I can get a little over-excited by such projects - that's the 12 y.o modeller still inside of me. Anyone who has a decent stash of models (I'm guessing the bulk of us) still very much has that 12 y.o inside -
ADMIT IT! You know that kid from so long ago whose jaw dropped the first time he saw something like a 1/24 Airfix Hurricane kit at the local hobby shop! We're middle aged plastic scale modellers - honestly how serious can
anything be taken here! The only thing that matters is that we keep this passion alive, keep buying lots of kits and build the odd one or two, or in Eric's case a dozen a year!
BTW, I also admit that when outside and a aeroplane passes over, I look up - even if in deep conversation with someone - can't help it.
@Eric - well, has your huge model landed yet? I pick up my "little" A-10C today. Absolutely no idea when I intend to start it though. It must be 5-6 projects down the list, so that's 5-6 years off!
Cheers
