Hi Paul,
Probably too late now but a simple method of obtaining a (near) perfect fit between pylon and fuselage is to place a strip of Sellotape over the area of the engine (before painting naturally) to act as a release agent. Coat the inboard edge of the pylon with bog and press the pylon up against the fuselage and hold in place until cured. When cured, the bog should have replicated the fuselage contour. Remove the tape! This method can be used to bypass any fiddling that may have been required. It can also be used for matching nacelles to wings, etc.

I'm finding it difficult to picture this, where are you putting the tape, on the pylon part of the engine assembly? And where does the bog go?

You put the tape on the fuse where the engine will sit. Then put the bog on the pylon and push the engine to the fuse and position the engine where you want it. The excess bog squeezes out as it takes the shape of the fuse where you first put the tape. Hope that explains it ok for ya Ray

Clears it up nicely, currently working on an Airfix 727 so I will give it a go
