More F-35 critiquing

I'll reserve my judgement on the F35 until I see one in Tiger Stripes.

Not even tiger stripes could make it look better or even a little bit threatening mate

Yeah....I am with Paul here. The F-35 maybe a lot of things but good-looking is not one them.
Still, as they say, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Being a fair bit older than most on here, I can only say that all this reminds me of the '60's, and look what we got in the end.

Rather than a fleet of 1/144 F15's, I am reminded that during the Vietnam War, one US Pollie suggested that it would be much cheaper to train pilots to fly Cessna 152's and carry a 500 lb bomb over North Vietnam, his economic argument was that they could put up about 100k of them to a B52 strike, pretty sure I know which one I would go for, and at the time I was doing a lot of hours on a C152.

If only we had the Jabiru J-160 back then....waaaaay cheaper than a Cessna 152! Of course, they can't carry much more than their own weight, but the toxic fumes they give off when they crash and burn would take out far more of the enemy than a piddling little bomb..
And for the price of the F-35 program, we could pick up around 1,000,000 of 'em

I agree mate - seriously, this thing looks like a kit of an egg plane..... as many enemy will die from laughing as from bombing!!

What? This from a self-confessed Phantom lover? Ah, it is said that love is blind. I mean, what's with the Phantom, bent up wing tips, bent down tall and shaped like a anvil with wings! What's one of the Phantoms nicknames - the "Double Ugly"!
It's at this point I beat a hasty retreat before a really angry LAME throws a 10In hammer at me!

A good warplane, in my opinion, is one that you can look at and think - "Yep, that's gonna ruin someones day!"
