737 feast (OK 3 anyway)

Postby RayS » Thu Dec 08, 2022 7:19 pm

I am finally getting back into an airliner-building groove and dusting off some builds from the tub of doom (I don't have a big enough shelf at the moment).

At least one is a build started here for a postponed Expo-themed kit build, the good old Airfix 737-200, the others are a Minicraft 737-300 and a Revell 737-800 converted to a -700/BBJ

So here they are as they stand now

And the decals/colours they will eventually wear.

I think I have managed to find all the remaining parts for each kit.

Hopefully, I can keep this thread humming along and at an acceptable pace

Progress, I decided to add the gear to the C-40 to bring it up to the stage of the other 2.

I then realised that the horizontal stabs I had collected for it were in fact for an MD-80.   I have searched high and low for the correct ones, so I must have put them in a 'safe' place and they will eventually turn up some time in 2026.

Never fear! I did find another Revell 737 during my stash dive from which I will borrow the stabs to finish this one.

I share your pain. Moving and renovations meant I didn't get much work done on my A.330s and now I can't find the engines. They've got to be around here somewhere.
It's nice to see you getting some airliners going

Good news everyone! (in my best Professor Farnsworth voice)

I found the BBJ/C-40 horizontal stabs!

But onto this update, fuselages have been resprayed white and masking started.

The first one nears the end of the construction line...

I just need to add the main gear doors and gloss-coat it
