Some long overdue attention to the Liberator.

Major assembly is now complete along with masking. The wheels and props are temporarily fitted to check it is not a tail sitter and fit.

I have a set Aeroclub props from a dead Privateer build but they are a larger diameter. So I am undecided which to use.

Really coming together now Ray, some serious masking work in that canopy.
are the kit props not suitable?

Thanks Graeme,

I just had a spare set that I would not otherwise use, so I thought I would chuck them on this one. Have to do some research to see what was actually fitted to them

I will go with the Aeroclub props, they look less paddle like.

After a spray, fill, sand and spray session it is almost ready for decals. There are a lot of pin holes in the wings I am not going to worry about for now.

I also started the detail paint of the wheel, engines an props.

The Lib is looking fantastic Ray! (Gee, I wonder who did the decals? ;) )

One little thing though - you might want to lengthen the noseleg a little. The Libs sat a little nose-up, tail-down.

BTW, Qantas has furloughed me until the end of the month, so I'll be catching up drawing more Qantas subjects... :)

Cheers!

Too late Scotty :-)

Well after a few issues it is done, I managed to ping one of the pitot probes off when masking some panels.

So out with the card and tube to make a replacement

I finished painting the wheels and props and then it was back to the paint shop to repaint the pitot probe and some touch ups.

Painting complete

And decalling pretty much complete, just needs a gloss coat and 12 small decals on the prop blades

Wow, Ray, she is gorgeous.
Can't see the difference between the two pitots. Nice recovering.
I'm really impressed about the front red decal. How did you convince it to adhere on such a complex surface ? Just softener?

Thanks Eugino,

The nose is painted (poorly). You get a decal outline and have to paint it in.
