Prototype 747-100 Tanker

Postby tor lives » Sat Feb 16, 2019 5:00 pm

Hi guys,
I am wanting to do yet another civil Air Refuelling Tanker, (to go along with my planned Hasegawa 1:200 Omega DC-10 40 Tanker),.....this time the object of my desire is the Boeing-owned 747-100 Tanker prototype.
This was in fact the 747 prototype RA-001, that was fitted with a KC-135-style refuelling boom to prove the concept of a large, wide-body, Multi Role Tanker Transport (MRTT).
These tests ultimately led to an order being placed by the then Imperial Iranian Air Force for a fleet of KC-747 Tankers. These KC-747s, (along with a fleet of KC-707s), still loyally serve the Iranian Air Force to this day.
What I am trying to establish is if any decal manufacturer has done a Boeing 747-100 House Colours/Prototype sheet in 1:200??
So far my search has only yielded a sheet done for the 1:144 Revell 747-100 kit, but I need a sheet for the 1:200 Hasegawa 747-100 kit.
Here is what I am looking for:

Actually Wal.....on reflection, the "Boeing 747" titles are really all I need. I could paint the rest, it's a pretty simple scheme.
What's a bloke gotta do to get this decal out of you?
Also, I would love top get a copy of your 1:72 HS-125 VH-CAO decal.

Oh that photo of the 74 prototype with the Sled is all kinds of kick ass! There's a 111 in the pic too.

Iroinically both the SR-71 and F-111 are now long out-of-service while, 50 years later, the 747 is still rolling off the production line. She truly is a legendary aeroplane, by any definition, (match that Airbus!!! :D ).

Right TOR, have printed you out VH-CAO decals and included these in what I estimate to be in 1/200 scale:
