Boeing Grey and Airbus Grey

As I might have mentioned previously, I went to an automotive paint shop and got them to mix me a can each of Boeing Grey and Airbus Grey, using the Xtracolor colours as a guide. The resulting paints are very good and look pretty accurate to the originals to my eye. Being automotive lacquers they dry quickly and hard and buff up nicely. I enjoy using them.

Did I mention that I got a bit excited at the time and ordered a two liter can of each? I retrospect I have realized that maybe I got more paint than I really need. I'm wondering if anyone out there might like to relieve me of some of this paint at a bargain basement price. I've found it convenient to thin the paint into nice little 90ml glass bottles that are handy to handle and pour into the airbrush and I reckon that if people paid me about $3 a bottle it would cover my costs and pay for a nice cup of coffee if I sell enough.

I'd be interested. Although I have a question about Auto Laquers. How to they react to Tamiya Laquer sprays, spray primers and the like?

Tony, I've had no trouble at all in spraying this lacquer over Tamiya rattle can paints, including primers, or vice versa. On the other hand, if you spray this stuff over enamels you have a whole world of trouble on your hands.

Humbrol 19 always does the trick for me

It's already thinned Knotty. I do it in batches of about five bottles at a time because that's the most convenient way to get the proportions right (I say this because I tried to get away with only doing a couple of bottles of thinned white paint last week and didn't get the proportions right and ended up with a serious mess.)

As for Qantas red, somehow I didn't think that I would get through that much, even in my wildest dreams. Besides, I still have five tinlets of Xtracolor Qantas red and anyhow I use Tamiya TS-8 Italian Red rattle cans for Qantas tails. If anyone is interested in relieving me on one of those Xtracolour tinlets let me know and I can have them at the swap and sell as well.
