OK folks,
As Model Expo edges ever closer it is time to now focus on the particulars and details of our inaugural A/CAM display.
The theme for our display this year is essentially Airliners and Civil Aircraft Models (ACAM ).
This is our introduction to the modelling public so I thought it appropriate that we put on a display that demonstrates the very essences of what our site is all about. The display will also highlight to the observer just how diverse and interesting our particular genera of modelling actually is. Of course, the other purpose for this year's display is to lay the ground work and demonstrate the feasibility of a new "Civil Aircraft" competition category to compliment the current "Airliner' category at next year's Model Expo.
So......the customised blue display table liners, multi level display shelving (thanks to Knotty for his carpentry skills here ), and formal A/CAM banner have been organised, as have the promotional flyers and complimentary "give-a-way" stickers.
The broad categories for our display will be:
. Airliners
. General Aviation types
. Helicopters
. Air Racers
. Aerobatic types
. Fire Bombers
Given what A/CAMers have so far volunteered for the display, I think I have all bases covered.
We will decide on the Friday night/Saturday morning just exactly how the display will be positioned and laid-out, (everyone's input will be welcome...after all it is OUR display), as this will largely be dictated by who brings what models.
To that end, for those who are wishing to contribute models to the display, we will need them delivered to the Model Expo venue preferably on the Friday night, or at the latest, Saturday morning (Ed / Brad...could you please confirm drop-off times).
So, that's the planning update to this point....could I now ask that individual A/CAMers wishing to contribute models to our display, that you list on this thread specifically who is planning on contributing what, so that I have an idea as to numbers, types, scales etc.
Thanks guys
Ray
