Not much modelling tonight. It's too cold in the garage to paint, so instead I just mounted the 737 on its stand.
Will have to brave the cold tomorrow night though, I want to have it in clear coat before the weekend.

Thanks to Graeme, I now have a great set of Braz Engines to replace the wrong ones that came with the kit. Now just to get into the office, sand, glue and prime them, and get them painted and ready for installation this weekend. :D

Thanks again Graeme, you're a champ.

I was very generously given this set of Braz CFM56 engines for my B737. I opened up the packet tonight and was wondering why there were two intakes, four bodies and no internals.
Image
Figured it out. It's a packaging stuff up. Apparently it's a common problem with Braz sets. Solution, cut the intakes off the kit engines and fit the Braz intakes in their place.
Job done and they're now in black primer.

Sunday I'll paint them up, but tomorrow I'm taking my Mum for a road trip in the country to visit her Sister.

Not a problem or your Fault Graeme. Couldn't tell until I opened the packet up. From what Ray tells me, it's very common from them. Thanks again for your assistance.

If you're on Facebook, you may have seen last night or this morning that I somehow managed to screw up one of the major decals on my B737. No big drama's, just a hit to the wallet as I had to order another decal sheet.

Image
The offending decal. I tried to apply it all in one piece. Went ok at first, but then tore, folded over itself and stretched. Decided it was better to scrap it than live with it. New sheet ordered from Southern Sky.

I got the rest of the decal on last night and this morning though. Just 5 or 6 to go that need to wait on the other cheat line decal to arrive. I did stuff up the engine decal on the other side too but as the replacement sheet had already been ordered, I wasn't to concerned.

Image
A couple of the decals on the underside require white backing. The white backing is on here, the colour top will follow shortly.

Image
A few touch ups required to the decal at the back here. Not a problem.

Image
The plain side of the plane. Just waiting on the new decals to arrive. Wheels are not installed yet either.

Image
Back in the cabinet for now. Hopefully it will be finished next weekend. Now to find something else to work on.

It fought me tooth and nail the whole build. It's made me swear off 1/144 kits and Humbrol paint for the rest of my life, and honestly it's a little rough on some of the seams and the decals could be straighter, but it's now done. I'm finished with it. It's in the cabinet and there it will stay. I present to you all my Revell Boeing 737-800 Qantas Retro Roo VH-XZP James Strong. Thank you to all who assisted with parts and advice.
