Impressions.
Jeez the Gnat was bloody small, it cant have carried any more fuel than a Zippo lighter
Mig 23 also much smaller than I thought.
I thought the Hastings was Butt Ugly but now I want a model of one on my shelf.
I thought the Javelin was Butt Ugly ..and still do.
The build quality / finish of the Vulcan was agricultural.
I never knew this version of Shackleton had viper jets mounted inside the outer nacelles.... mmm I do like the old Shack

Mmmm Newark ... that was a fun day!

Love the collection of Flygvapnet aircraft and being let in behind the barriers by one of the Volunteers to get up close and personal with some of the exhibits.

Remember sheltering under the Vulcan from the rain and being impressed by its size but can't recall it's finish being "agricultural".

Perhaps one of the most memorable moments was finding the brick in the wall donated by Roland Beamont.

No need to say enjoy yourself Wally because you obviously are!

Hiya Ansett,

undoubtedly enjoying myself, I managed to miss the rain whilst snapping away at the outdoor exhibits but I too stood under the Vulcan. There was a large wet puddle under the wing, looking up I could see rain water coming out of a seam in the lower wing skin

Is someone lining up to build the Frog/Novo/Modelcraft Shackleton?

I have built 2 of those plastic cheese graters, one when I was a teen and another a few years ago to relive my youth, horrible thing I gave it to the kid up the street.
I do have the Airfix Shack int' stash however (a no-jet tail dragger) but it will do

Gee it does look tatty. Well I suppose it's been out in eleven (goodness is it THAT long ago?) winters since I saw it so it must have deteriorated a bit. What a shame they can't put everything under cover.

Man the Viggen is a grunty looking aircraft and that colour scheme wow what more could you ask for?

Must dig out the Heller kit and have a go and maybe then donate the two seat parts to an Airfix or Hasegawa kit just for fun!
