When RAAF jets were movie stars

Postby tor lives » Tue Apr 12, 2016 9:07 pm

A little-known fact is that many RAAF aircraft have had cameos on TV shows and in movies.
This is one of my favourites:
This is the final scene of the movie "Year of Living Dangerously" and stars Mel Gibson and one very good-looking RAAF 707 carrying the fictitious "Royal Netherlands Airlines" titles. As can be seen, not much effort went into hiding her true identity.

And here is another one for the F-111 and Mirage fans

And finally one for the RAAF chopper fans (and another 707, only this time a Qantas bird)

You're dedication to finding any small snippit of RAAF footage is outstanding Ray

I don't know how many times I sat through Turkey shoot on 'Ten's Late Night Movie' to see the Mirage stuff near the end :D

Would you believe there is an 2014 version inspired by the original 1982 release!

How did not Linda Stoner not get a Academy Award for her convincing acting in Turkey Shoot - amazing! :?

That would make for a excellent A/CAM pizza/beer night sometime - what a shlocker!

As per usual with Linda Stoner, there are two VERY big reasons why I didn't notice her acting abilities :D

I'm guessing both you and Paul Hogan share the same issues regarding Ms. Stoner?

The full movie of Turkey Shoot is on Youtube. I offer my place up for a ACAM's movie night to watch it.

What a generous offer Troy. Maybe something to keep in mind for the Model Expo weekend perhaps.

Sure... well if I'm there this year. I have nothing built for it and my family are really keen for me to go to camping up on the Murray again. Still June is still a bit off.
