Isn't the real stuff just 2 pac? If you have a decent layer of primer on I would have thought it would have been ok.

Yeah Paul it is,
but its what they call a pearl layer effect base coat. you apply 707 grey as the base colour, then apply the mica ( Silver) then clear coat it.

I had a 34 coupe that i did ages ago with the QANTAS red, and it actually shrunk the body. so thats why im sort of hap hazard about using it.

So it'd be just like applying different layers of paint when doing camo yeah? I'm sure there are model paints with the same effect for model cars. I'd give it a crack mate on an old shitter and see what happens. And sorry for getting off topic knotty ;) ;)

I know what you mean Brendon ,I'm a bit sheepish myself . I have the Tamiya rattle cans ........the grey and pearl . If I have enough time ,I might have it done for expo . I was looking at VKA at work the other day , the pearl seems to be very patchy when viewed from a distance :o I suppose this is the pearl over the grey effect !! It's a challenging paint job , but hey that's what us modellers do ........right ;) ;)

As much as I'm not a fan of Jetstar I wouldn't mind doing an A320 of theirs. Let me know how you guys go cos I'd be keen to give it a go. Where would 1 find decals?

G,day Paul , Hawkeye released Jetstar A320 decals a while back . They happen to be a sponsor of this site , tell Peter you found out via A-CAM that he has the decals . Give him a ring and see if he has any left .
