A visit to RAF Coningsby after lockdown easing

Postby VH-WAL » Fri May 22, 2020 7:36 am

Last week Boris said we could go for a drive and have a picnic wihin England.. so being a sunny day today and it being my 68th birthday we set off for a 90 min drive to Coningsby in Lincolnshire armed with thermos, sarnies and camera. I tried a couple of new (to me) photo vantage points. Trouble with hot clear blue sky weather was that there was quite a bit of heat haze evident. These bland, grey jets are really hard to get a nice pic of.... I shall keep trying!

Nice shots Wal, better than anything I could get.

Yes it is a pity about the lack of markings, you can't even tell what unit they belong to these days. I thought all the twin seaters were being retired so it is interesting to see one in your pictures there.

Happy Birthday!
