I had a great uncle who flew over Germany a bit as a Nav in a Lanc long time ago - he never landed there also. He did a silk let down 3 times - not over Germany. Also a 2nd cousin (mother's cousin) who was shot down and killed in a Lanc on his way to Dortmund one night, buried in Holland.
Nasty stuff huh!

Yep. Holding pattern over Lamborne, 25nm north-east of London.
Thames visible, plus London City airport parallel the Thames in centre of pic, the Millenium Dome on the bend of the river.

Blasted tube strike in London means that a visit to TAHS is off the plate.
Gotta support the tube employees to stop them being shafted, though.
