I shot these three Wacos at Festival of Flight 2011 at Caboolture. One open and two cabins.

The red and white one with engine running was just about to taxi to return to Watts Bridge. And one of her airborne.

Apologies for the small aeroplane in the last shot. When I arrived at Caboolture I found I'd left my 100-400mm lens at home. 1000km one way is much to far to drive just to pick up a lens so the best I had was a 75-300mm one.

Regards,
RHB.

Great shots of some beautiful old aeroplanes. Thanks for sharing.

Couldn't you have just gotten one of the Wacos to take you home to get your 100mm-400mm lens :D

Back off Troy! I've got drooling rights over the cream WACO! I have lusted for that aeroplane for years! It's just so me! WTF is it with Tattslotto - why is it taking so long to become a multi-millionaire? Seriously, I have so many aeroplanes to purchase potentially! :(

Seriously (yeah right Adam!), one day when I purchase this or something similar, I'll take all you A/CAMers for a ride! This could take some time though. I will have to purchase the Extra 330SC first of course! :D

As far as I know, it ain't a crime to dream is it lads.

Great pic's as always.

Cheers

Adam

No Adam it isn't a crime to dream. If no one ever dreamt at all we'd never get anything done. Thank goodness we have the capacity to dream and the ability to turn those dreams into realities.

RHB.

Oh Gawd! Away from me spawn of Satan - tempt me not with thy aeronautical trinkets! ARRGGHHHHH - so weak, must own a WACO! Another 7 in the syndicate and that's only $15k each - plus whatever month outgoings plus however many $/hour flight time. My old LAME on the Laser was in a Yak-52 syndicate with 9 others. Yaks are expensive to own (not to purchase) and the flying rate was $400/hour. A WACO would be much the same with that big radial up front. It's a relatively simple aeroplane though - fixed pitch prop, fixed gear, but hangarage and insurance would be expensive. Adam - why so many negative vib's man! Let's just buy it - who's in?
