a couple of shots of a Beautiful DH 84 Dragon. Sadly this gorgeous Dragon is no longer with us having crashed in southern QLD on the 1st October 2012 killing her owner, his wife and four of their good friends. The owner's father walked away from a crash landing in this aircraft at Archerfield in 1954 and 2 years later the owner, then 10 years old walked away from the crash of another Dragon that killed his father and older brother. The restoration was done at Mothcair at Murwillumbah and took 11 years to complete. She was immaculate and pristine, the only modern features being electric starters on each engine and the small wind turbine type generator attached to the undercarriage struts, the original generator on the upper wing having been deleted.

And one of the history board that went everywhere with Riama.

Great shots of a sadly missed beauty. Didn't know that history behind this aeroplane - spooky how life can repeat itself.

it actually was the same dragon that killed ih dad and brother....it was the family plane and a bit of an obsession from what i have read.....such a shame to loose a wonder group of people and a stunning plane.

my bad....wrong again it seems....i'd read it was THIS plane stan was killed in.....she still was a stunning plane.
