I shot this Super Stol as it taxied from the flight line to refuel for its display.

And a couple after a bolt in the starboarrd undercarriage broke after several stol take offs and landings. The first from the flight line.

And the next as we taxied past in the RNAC's Cessna 182 going for a joy ride.

When we returned form our joy ride it was loaded on a truck and a little later unloaded in the RNAC hangar.

Ouch! Still no major tears I'm guessing. What's your estimate for t/o and landing distance? Be a very handy aeroplane on a decent sized farm.

I didn't actually see it take off or land Adam so I can't say. I reckon it would be useful on any sized farm aboove about 5 or 10 hectares.

Out of interest, I found a video on Youtube of one demonstrating a short field landing - high angle of attack, with some power. They quote a 20 foot role on landing. It looks a little longer than that, but still not much. This would take some practice to get just right. Get it wrong and the sink rate could be pretty high. What a fascinating little aeroplane!

Damo, could you please post a link to that video so we can maybe get some idea of what went wrong unless of course the video was on the tv?

Sorry Ross...can't find it again. It was 9 news, I think...or the local equivalent.
