Wayne Eagles Health

Postby Graeme H » Tue Sep 02, 2014 7:25 pm

have just had an email from Yvette Eagles, here are the details

am writing to you to let you know that Wayne is in Ballarat hospital, he suffered a stroke last night at 11pm, thankfully he seems to be recovering, but it will be a very hard road ahead for both of us.

He has lost some use of his right leg & arm, and the dexterity that he had in his right hand is badly affected.

We don't know what the future holds, I feel so bleak and so concerned for his well being.

Once they stabilize his health then he will embark on a long rehabilitation.

If you want to call him he is in 4 north, room 10C

Lets all hope he does get better

Thanks for "heads up" Graeme.
Wayne if you are reading this, on behalf of all here at A/CAM, get well soon mate. You are a well-respected and essential part of our little community and we need you "back in the game" ASAP.
If there is anything I can do for you just say the word.

Hi Guys,

Thank you all for your kind wishes for Wayne, he is a fighter and this has knocked him & me for six.
He seemed to be a lot brighter and alert today, he is working with the physios to get himself healed & mobile again.
The MRI scan showed that the stroke was not a biggie, but not insignificant, hence the damage has been physical not neurological.
I will pass on all your thoughts tomorrow when I make the long drive to the hospital.

I hope you don't mind my answering for him, and thanks to Graeme for letting you know.

Regards
Yvette

Hi Yvette,
Thanks for giving us the update on Wayne....I am really pleased to hear that he has perked up a little.
Tell him from me to get better, and get his arse back to the model desk to finish that 1:32 Piper Cub :D
Don't forget that if you need anything just to yell out.
Regards and thinking of you both

Thanks Tor & all of you,

Wayne has had lots of phone calls & visitors to keep his spirits up and not allow him to get depressed, which can so easily set in, in this situation.

To complicate things a little I fell and dislocated my left elbow only 2 weeks ago, so it has made driving and a lot of other tasks quite difficult, but our neighbours and friends have rallied in our time of need and helped out.

It helps to know that you are all thinking of Wayne and sending him your healing thoughts, I will let him know just how much you all care.

Thank you again, I will keep you all posted on any developments.

Cheers Yvette

Hi all,
Just had a bit of a catch-up chat with Wayne and he sounds in good spirits.
Thought I would give him a call just to wish him well on behalf of all of us here at A/CAM, and to let him know he and Yvette are in our thoughts.
Wayne and Yvette are great people who have done much for our hobby and their local community, and I think it is important for them to know that we are right behind them both at this time.

To Wayne and Yvette, my home number is 03 97443013, and I am just down the road in Sunbury if ya need anything.

Take care folks and regards for now
