Love it.....she looks great!!!
Although I wish BA would stop inferring/suggesting that they are 100 years old, (they are drawing a pretty long bow with this claim)....only airlines like KLM, Avianca, and Qantas can truly make that claim.

Correct Ray, apparently they are going back to a company called Aircraft Transport and Travel Ltd established in 1919

There were as I recall, four British companies amalgamated to form Imperial Airways. It was nationalized (along with the privately owned British Airways) to create BOAC and BEA, which were then amalgamated as British Airways. So there is a direct link in one airline being absorbed into another, but not in the title used, unlike QEA and KLM. It would be nice if BA also painted one of their European service airliners in that lovely red square BEA scheme.

Leigh,
There are 3 more aircraft to be painted, 2 747s in the Negus and Landor schemes and an A319 in the BEA 'red square' scheme.

Beautiful. I needed a decent scheme for an A.319 I was planning to build and the BEA scheme would be just right. No doubt one of the decals makers will have it out fairly soon.

They all look great.
I just hope this inspires Qantas to continue on with it's "retro roo" program.
Rumour has it that the next two for Qantas will be:
- 717-200 in
TAA 70s colours

- A330-200 in
Australian Airlines (TN) final colours.

I hope so.

Funny thing is the angle that that is photographed on almost (and that is stretching the meaning of the word) makes the Kepuyan kit look accurate!
