Yeah.....not good. The last few years has seen several "hull loss" accidents involving the 777, including operators such as Asiana, British Airways, Malaysian Airlines, Singapore Airlines, and now Emirates.

Very confronting stuff! Super glad all on-board got out. Very sad about the fireman who perished. :cry: Top marks to the crew for getting all on-board off and alive.

Ray, there will be I'm sure a month's worth of info to digest on this one when it all comes out. I heard on the news this morning the FO was an Aussie. Some interesting video in the link below from inside the cabin. Kinda guessing you've seen this already Ray.

TV News says he was on "unpaid Leave from Qantas"? Is this an industry "norm" or a bit of a "naughty"?
