Brian Shul - Sled Driver

My absolute all time fav jet is the SR-71, yep love it even more than the F-105! I was lucky enough to finally see one at Duxford early last year and even in retirement with the engines removed and the bang seats out, it has this out of this world look like no other aeroplane. The only thing that comes close is another Lockheed product, the F-22.

Anyway, some years ago I purchased Brian Shul's books on the Sled. Shul was very lucky to survive a T-28 crash in Vietnam and went on to fly the Sled and was the only one of 93 Sled drivers to take a camera up with him on occasion. So, his photos are rather unique. Please if you have the remotest interest in the Sled do watch this video of Brian giving a talk on the Sled. Shul is a excellent motivational speaker. Not a bad effort going from almost dying of his injuries to doing Mach 3.5 over Libya once! He finishes with his famous ground speed check story.

Some of Shul's incredible photos.
