Is it my imagination, or is she sitting higher on her gear than previous models????

1. Cool "saw tooth" thingies at the rear of the engine casing.
2. Cool new winglets - in your face Airbus!

I think it's just the angle combined with the water reflection on the ground :)

Speaking to Capt NG a few months back and he stated the gear is longer to accommodate the larger fan blade and to keep the nacelle circular. Plus keeping the required engine the ground clearance.

That's what they did when they did the 737NG. I don't think the Max is any taller gear wise :)

Wonder what the IATA three letter code will be for this one?

From Flight Global

...the landing gear – sized 20cm (8in) longer to accommodate the 69.4in fan diameter of the CFM International Leap-1B engines.

To improve the aerodynamics, Boeing added a 787-like, circular tail cone to the 737 Max to fit around the exhaust vent of the Honeywell-supplied auxiliary power unit, eliminating the vortex generators found on the 737NG.

Looks very nice but its a bugger because it means I have to make more nice 737 models. My house is already too small and I spent this morning at Sydney Airport outside gate 13 taking pictures of all the lovely 777s, 787s, A.330s and A.380s getting inspired to make more of them. When will it end.
