Tigermoth flight

Postby hrtpaul » Sat Aug 01, 2015 1:25 pm

Hey peeps. A mate of mine up here called me last night and asked me if I wanted to go for a ride from Ingham to Ayr in a 1940 Tigermoth tomorrow afternoon. Well WTF do you reckon I said?          Life's hard up here in TSV I tell ya. It'll be the oldest plane I've ever flown in. There's a fly in up at Ingham and apparently there should be about 30 aircraft there. Not sure what types though. Could be 29 boring as bat shit Cessna 172's an the Tigermoth. Not that it matters cos it'll be a nice day out anyways. I'll be taking heaps of pics of the Tigermoth and others. This is the machine I'm going up in :D :D :D :D :D :D

Fantastic! What an absolute beauty! Truly a example of Beauty and the Beast (you!). Going for a ride in a real aeroplane huh - with a little wheel at the back end!

Wear a thick jacket, thin souled shoes and lead with the rudder ol' chap!

Happy landings and can't wait to read your report on this adventure!

Cheers

Really good to hear mate and I am glad you enjoyed it......now that is flying!!!
I am actually pretty envious of you. Scooting around the sky in a Tiger seems like a pretty cool way to spend a Sunday to me.
Now time to get yourself a 1:32 Matchbox/Revell Tiger Moth kit and build that good-looking ol girl you spent the afternoon with, (1:72 Airfix kit just won't cut it in this case, cause ya now have an emotional attachment to the aircraft...and as Adam and Capt Eric will tell you.....size matters :D ).

Hey Paul

So glad you had a great day - lot different from flying in a spam can huh. Looking forward to reading more about your bip adventure - when you've come back to earth that is!

Cheers

So did you check if the lower wing tie rods had been replaced ?

Good gig when you can get one however. Another one to add to the log book ! ;)
