An ACAM member at work

Postby Ericg » Fri Jun 26, 2015 11:24 am

So I was paxing back home from Sydney yesterday and happened to know a member of ACAM who was sitting in seat 0A on this big jet on his way to LAX!

The flies are bad around this time of year.

Would have had a nice shot of the jet rotating but the pesky upturned wing thing was obscuring my view from seat 2F

Was great to meet you (in person) at expo by the way mate.

Eric.

That sure is a DOOZY of an aeroplane! Got to one of the best "offices" to work in I think - view certainly must be pretty spectacular!

Was great to catch up with you all at Expo and the A/CAM lunch - what I remember of it through the haze of my "man flu"!

Cheers

On ya Capt Salty!!! :D
Ya know, I probably take them for granted....being around them every day, but the 380 really is an awesome aeroplane to behold.

PS: the Q400 would look good hanging from Salty's A380 rear vision mirror :D

Salty could literally hang a Pitts or a Laser from his rear vision mirror! Both a Pitts and Laser (just I think) could fit inside a A380. How you get them in is another thing of course - in bits!

In LA now...great shots Eric.
Never had anyone do that before.
Likewise it was great to put names to faces at Expo.

There would be stacks of photos of you flying out there Salty, but you would never know it I guess.

I was lucky enough to have a photographer come and ask me if he could take some shots of us when I was operating into Thangool late one afternoon. He sent me the results. Here is one of us in a -200

And I saw the same photographer at Gladstone one day, madly taking photos of us as we taxied past. I emailed him and he sent back some excellent photos of the -300 I was flying.

Excellent shots Capt Eric!!!!
The next time Capt Salty operates through Melbourne, I will try to get some shots of the big jet on push, and taxi out.
I am fortunate in that I get to wave to the drivers from the aerobridge as they are pushing back from the bay.....reckon that would make a great shot :D .

I can imagine you waving them off on their journey TOR, clean hanky in your hand and tear in your eye.
