Hi Ray

Yes, please forward those pic's of yours to me - brilliant gun detail in particular. Interesting to see some "dings" in the nose - some panel work perhaps? Wonder what it was caused by - flying through hail perhaps? Hawgs used to be day VFR but now are all weather/day/night capable. Interesting to see a few dints in the noses of both aeroplanes - hmmm!

Just like most down and dirty street fighters, they have a scared face and nose :D. Sort of reminds me of a bruised and battered pit bull that is still top dog after countless fights.

The nose damage is commonly caused by the refuelling probe.

Did I mention that I just got a 1/32 A-10A to build. Mwhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

Seriously kick ass Troy! We should start a A-10 mini-group build - you, me and Paul. Whaddayah reckon? 1/72, 1/48 and your 1/32! This mini-group build to be completed by the scheduled 2016 retirement of the Hawg. How about aiming for Expo next year? I have not read a exact date anywhere but the USAF want them gone sometime next year. Let's see if Congress let 'em do it!

Maybe Ray can change this forum name to "Airliner-civil-aircraft & A-10-modeller.com"! :D

Ah of course - dings caused by the refuelling probe - should of realised that - thanks Troy! I'll be adding some "dings" into my Hawg nose! I need a good source for some 1/48 weap's like JDAM's - anyone?

Cheers

Belay that request for info on 1/48 JDAM's.

Just ordered four of 'em plus a Sniper Advanced Targeting Pod for my Hawg! I'm getting into this!

Hmm. I have the 1/72 Hobby Boss (or is it Trumpeter) A-10C two seater and a couple Italeri singles in the stash that I'd like to do up in RAAF what if colours suitable for our desert and rainforest areas seeing they would be operating down in the weeds so to speak in their role of day CAS. The dual would be painted in overall Night Black (think RAF WW2 bomber underside colour) for its role of night CSAR with a home made radar/comms pod on one of the ordnance stations, probably the fuselage centreline station and big jugs on several of the other stations to increase the loiter time to 5 or 6 hours. The gears inside my head are turning faster and faster.

Regards,
RHB.
