Still think it was totally crass how Yeager to say what he did a day after the crash.

He was right though.

Very easy to criticise the dead, as they have no way of defending themselves. When Yeager destroyed that multi-million dollar NF-104A, it finished it's use at his test pilots school - all because of his own ego. No other test pilot students got to fly the NF-104A because of Yeager.

It was his opinion expressed in a crass way before all the evidence was available. Just made him look pretty lame if you ask me, given his own record was rather tarnished. Just my opinion as you have yours.
