Not a lot different to the loss making fare slashing that has only just stopped

Amazing to remember we at Australian had John Schaap take over from James Strong just before deregulation, another similarity to today, he was probably as bad as Joyce, if not worse

Agree that the loss making fare/capacity wars are similar, but the industry of today is not remotely like the industry of 1991. Case-in-point....no Australian, Ansett, or Compass to be seen , outsourced maintenance, security, cabin crews, reservations, IT, ground handling, catering, lounge staffing, flying (eg Cobham, jetconnect, etc). Take it from me, this industry is nothing like it used to be.
