There were already quite a few great entries there at wingswhen I dropped mine off last night, and from what I saw and heard this morning, those numbers have doubled again and they all look great. It's good to see all the entries grouped together too, its should make it easier to keep an eye on them bloody kids who feel it's their duty to touch the kits. Thanks Andrew for fixing up the Canopy on my Phantom too. I tried to protect it from the rain and laid a towel over it with expected consequences. I won't get down today, but I'll be there for sure for a few hours tomorrow.

Some photos from around 7pm last night. Way more entries now.

Great to catch up with some fellow A/CAM'ers yesterday. Uncle Les (missed him), Young Kev and international jet-setting LAME par-excellence HRT Paul was there too yesterday. Hope to see you later Troy.

Checking out Troy's photos, (and Brad's over on AMI), looks like it was another great event.....sorry I couldn't get there, (a little busy with the 1:1s at the moment).

Thankfully rain/hail/wind abated for the Sunday at the Wings show. I brought my youngest "aviatrix" down as she also happened to be working on a airport diorama for school (well, I was assisting in a technical advisory role of course!). I think the true test of a museum is when you get young kids going "Ow!" and "Hah" when seeing and most importantly hearing displays. MAM have powered up some of the annunciator/alarms in the DC-9 sim display. My daughter jumped about a foot in the air when sitting in the captains seat in the sim and some wise guy behind us activated the stall warning/stick shacker alarm - it was pretty funny! Allowing some interaction with the public I think was a brilliant move for the museum. There is also a outstanding WW1 display now. Some paint has appeared on some of the external aircraft too, wish I think is a good thing as the Sabre, Meteor, Gannet and Wessex have looked very average for a very long time. I do really recommend anyone who hasn't been down to MAM for awhile to check it out and see the progress the members have made - truly commendable.

The model show was very cool with a pretty good turn out with a great range of models. I got to catch up with A/CAM'ers Troy and Uncle Les briefly (well, at least say hi) in between chasing my daughter around the museum. Both Andrew and Uncle Les did very well with plenty more "gongs" heading home with them! Uncle Les' Winjeel is amazing - well done ol' chap! Great to see Troy's big F-4E as well. There was a lovely 1/32 X-15A-2 on display - quite inspirational. Must pull man sized finger out and get working on my Manscale projects! So, well done to Brad for organising a great model show - Bravo sir! Hope you're having a well earned rest today!

Thanks guys. I can tell you we had 105 entries from 31 entrants plus more more on display. We had the most ever Junior entries that I can remember with 15 and the Fleet Air Arm and World War 1 categories were well represented. Thanks to Southern Model Club, Sprue Finders, ModelArt Australia, Uncle Les and Scale Magic for their sponsorship and to all the modellers who entered or just turned up for a look.

Next year we will continue with the WW1 category to go along with the special display at the museum and our theme category will be; P-51 Mustangs in any colours, markings and scales. With a little luck, our CA-17 Mustang will be on display in the museum by next October too.

The link below to my photobucket story with over 100 pictures of the show.

Excellent. Get a few Tamiya kits, they'll almost build themselves :)
