Just found this - looks to have been a Pitts Model 12 - with the M14P engine. I did not know the pilot.

My thoughts go out to his family and friends during this tragic and awful time.

This aircraft was on static display at the weekend. I was able to get a few good photos of it. My thoughts ad condolences go out to Mr Biebor's family. He was very well known on the local scene.

Sad news. What type of Pitts is it? _ ah just re-read Adams post.

Sad and tragic news indeed.

And indeed, VH-JDZ was the aircraft being operated at the time of the accident which is known to belong to the late Mr. Beiboer.

Not really wanting to pour more misery on recent events, but another 'topical' item under the investigation of the NSW Coroner:

Not sure that I'd need to be chasing a world record. But then, I'm not driven by testosterone and other goals that 'daredevils' appear to be. At 19, I don't know that the rider attempting the jump would even understand how to properly assess the risks. Seems the 'knock it off' signal wasn't for the rider, despite what his team thought ?
