Hi guys,
I have just been asked to reiterate what the Model Expo A/CAM planned display program is for the next few years.
So here it is once again.

ACAM Model Expo display programe looks like this:
2015 Airliners / Civil Aircraft: TV and Movie Stars
2016 The Wonderful World of Air Racing
2017 Ansett: Tribute to One of the World's Great Airlines
2018 From Swords to Ploughshares: Military Aircraft in Civil Use
2019 Trash Hauling: Tribute to Freighters
2020 Angels of Mercy: Emergency Services Aircraft
So in the coming years there will be something for everyone.

Hi Ray,

I like the idea of some of those, BUT, wouldn't it be better to set the program of the next years display during the present show?. What I mean is, at the show you could gauge what the general feeling is amongst the guys that are taking part in the display and potentially the new folks who are drawn in by the display and category. And set the next theme based upon that. Also, 5 years is a long time in modelling and a lot of things could change and having a set schedule may mean that the display may not be able to take advantage of that.

People should be able to knock out 1 or many models to suit the next years display time fairly easily.

Some fair points made Capt Eric, and indeed there is a lot to be said for your rationale, however, in my experience, if you give max lead time and notice, then display participants can plan their contributions well ahead and not feel rushed or pressured, (bearing in mind that most are also building for competition categories at the same time). I actually don't think 5 years is a long time in modelling terms. I am lucky to complete one model a year these days. As much as I am ashamed to admit it, I have had partially complete models hanging off the "curtain rail of doom" for nearly twice that long.
That all being said however, I believe in democracy and I am open to suggestions. I am happy to get a general consensus from A/CAMers at this year's Model Expo as to how they wish to go forward with our display in the coming years. Thanks for your input, I actively encourage an open dialogue where these issues are concerned, and I would encourage all interested A/CAMers to have their say on this topic.

TOR,

Shame you didn't make 2016 the Ansett Tribute year, as it would have been their 80th Anniversary!

Just saying...

Scott.

Well if everyone is happy to do so, we can swap the themes for 2016 and 2017 around.
Let me know your thoughts on this people.
