Courtesy IPMS Germany, we have these photos of what looks to be an excellent and long-overdue kit of this significant aircraft:

Yep.....finally.
Looks like I now have a few surplus Mach 1:72 DC-4/C-54 kits in the stash.

Hi Ray,

I have the Red Roo DC-4 resin set which is meant to convert the Heller DC-6 (I used one doing the Carvair) but the engines and cowls in the set address the reported issues in the Mach 2 kit ( I don't know anything about those.. I am not qualified to comment never having seen a kit) So I don't know whether to source a Mach 2 kit kit cheap when eventually their prices tumble and use the Red Roo set OR part with the Red Roo set to add value to someone else's Mach 2 kit... Hannants has the Revell kit on pre order for 41 GBP.. call it 80 AUD, god knows what the retail is going to be downunder... whatever that retail is going to be it is hard to imagine one could get one shipped at a lower cost from the usual overseas suspects! Dunno will just have to wait and see I guess but I do really really really want one (Revell).

Well I can give ya first dibs on a reasonably-priced Mach 1:72 DC-4 when mine becomes "surplus to requirement" due to being replaced in the stash by the Revell DC-4.
Why don't you make room in your suitcase and pick one up on your next UK trip ???....should be cheaper that way.

cos I got an Airfix 1/72 Concorde and a Revell 1/32 Dornier 27 marooned, still in the UK that I was unable to bring down last year!.. the suitcase being full of Airfix Valiant, Supermodel Pipistrello, Signifer Goose and something else I can't remember! oh yeah, a 1/32 Red Arrows Hawk which was marooned from the year before!!!! :D Ah it'sa curse!

This has been promised for 10+ years. I have one on order and if it's as good as their Corsair and Halifax I'll sell it cheap.
Hopefully it will be good.......
Bear in mind the initial release will be a C-54 and need some work to make it a DC-4. They say there will be DC-4 releases to follow if the C-54 version sells well. it will sell well if it's good and not so well if it's not so good.
