G'day Knotty,
Given she is one of your builds, I thought you may be interested in this.
Well...she is back from the "dead" and essentially in one piece again.
As you know she was literally smashed to bits when I received her from Rob last Saturday. I thought she was only going to be good for parts reclamation but after much plastic micro-surgery, (and a heap of internal structural rebuilding and reinforcing), I have a workable foundation by which to now go forward and complete this refurb.
Some sacrifices will have to be made, (eg: no clear cockpit or windows....decals instead, and some loss of surface detail), but I think she is most recoverable. I did find some spare props for her in that box of DC-3 spares Rob gave me.
She will be a 1950s Qantas aircraft when done, using the excellent Hawkeye decals (of course :D ).

In Holland, I once visited a aircraft recovery group dedicated to retrieving old WW2 wrecks that literally cover their country.
This is like a scale aircraft recovery group. At least you guys don't have to dig up to 10m down for the parts!

Great work and great save!

Cheers

Adam
