1/48 J-3 Cub

Hi All..
I picked up the Hobbycraft 1/48 J-3 Cub at the swap'n'smell, and have decided to build it to try to get my mojo back. Also, I've just finished setting up my modelling space in the garage, and I'm itching to try it out..
Anyhow, there is a noticeable lack of detail in the cockpit, and even though I swore this build would be strictly OOB, I can't help myself.
Cockpit photos show there isn't much required, and most of it is fairly simple to do. There is one area, however, that is a challenge - the fuel shut-off lever. It sits in a recessed area on the LH side of the cockpit.
My question is: how can I make a small recess the right shape for it? See pics..

Dremel it. Just a little bit. I want to see you Dremel it, just a little bit, as it grooovveess.

You can make a new sidewall out of thin styrene with a hole in the right place. Or drill a hole, sand it to shape and glue a piece of thin styrene same shape flush with outer surface. Or just make a rim out of wire ang glue it to the wall. I don't think it will be noticable that there is no recess. I hope this makes sense.

I agree with Uros. I don't reckon you'll be able to notice if it's recessed or not

After a lot of thinking, and some tinkering around, I think I'll simply (until I actually start doing it) make a flange and glue it in the right spot. It's only about 2mm x 3mm anyhow..

'd slightly recess it or just paint it - it's only 1/48 in any case. Still, a piece of plastic card is so easy fitted. Looks a fun build.
