13th January this year marked the last passenger 727 service in the world. It was flown by EP-ASB, a 727-200 Advanced and operated by Iran Aseman Airlines. Flight EP851 did a two-hour domestic route from Zahedan to Tehran’s Mehrabad International Airport. The 727 is a favourite of mine and I wouldn't mind building this jet. Just gotta find decals for it.

I believe so far this was the only 1:72 Injection moulded kit :

but requires a lot of work to make an accurate 727-200.

I suspect it is hard to get one now (as there was the usual rumour that the moulds were damaged) but I seem to recall at the time a lot changed hands probably when the original purchasers realised they didn't want to spend the time or money fixing it up.

yes I would avoid the KMC kit. though I guess if I got one cheap I would play with it to fix the nose... but it would have to be real cheap, people ask crazy money for this kit

Yeah....the KMC kit has a dodgy front end on it.
The best way around it is to get the front end of a Heller/Airfix 1:72 707/E-3 kit, and "transplant" on to the KMC kit.

I snagged my KMC 737 for $100 a few years ago at a swap table. I have been thinking about using a 707 nose (or a copy of one) to replace the blob on the kit. I think Authentic Airliners released a replacement resin nose some years ago. Long OOP now.
