This is one that always confounds me, so perhaps our hive mind can help me out. What colour are fan blades. They are such a prominent part of modern airliners but I'm never quite sure what to do about them. What so others paint them?

Good Kwestion. Depends on what material they are made out of (Nickel Titanium or Carbon Fibre or Ceramic matrix) or coated with (for high temperature ones) I suppose and what the reference photos make them look like.

Be interesting to see what the consensus is.

Amorphous silvery grey for me

much like Wally said, and never glossy, I usually use a dark metallic like Tamiya XF56 flat which I darken up a bit
This is one of those times where it is better to make it darker than needed, because in real life inside the engine nacelle is in shadow which is not what happens in modelling very much
