Virgin Atlantic red

Postby Sharkbaber » Thu Sep 08, 2016 10:02 pm

Dear all,

this is my first attempt to get some information, having only joined this website today. Apologies if this is an old topic, but can someone please advise the best way to replicate the Virgin Atlantic red? I am looking to use the Revell 747 and have the decals, which include the shading towards purple on the fin. Is there a suitable match already for the red, though?
Many thanks in advance for any suggestions,
Cheers,

Hey SB,

Welcome to the forum.

Are you talking about the current metallic looking scheme or the previous one, this one?

Hi RayS,

Thanks for getting back to me! I did indeed mean the older scheme, exactly as on the photo you posted. Any ideas?

Cheers,

G'day Jim and welcome to our little site.....it's great to have you here.
I have personally not had any experience matching this colour, but I seem to recall reading somewhere that Humbrol 19 was a good starting point to match this particular "Virgin Red".
You may need to experiemnnt a little with lightening/darkening etc.
Good luck!!!
