Some more intersting NASA birds

Postby tor lives » Sat Jul 23, 2016 8:56 pm

Thanks to a photo sent to me yesterday by our favourite LAME, I have been looking at the NASA rotary wing fleet and, in addition to more well-known helo types operated by the agency, I would now like to include these in my NASA build-list plans:

In addition to the big CH-53 in NASA colours, she also looked great in her "life after NASA" civil scheme as well:

Wouldn't mind doing this one either at some stage.
Can anyone recommend the best CH-53 kit, (cause it looks like I will need at least two :D).
Geez.....at this rate it looks like A/CAM will have to take over the Rotary Wing Category at Model Expo as well as the current two categories it sponsors (Christ....this is getting expensive :D ).

So here is another NASA rotary wing "heavy" that has caught my eye:

Can anyone recommend a good 1:72 or 1:48 Sea King kit for this..... and BTW, I am still looking for recommendations for the best 1:72 or 1:48 CH-53.

I have both the new Airfix Sea King and the Fujimi Sea King in 1/72. That look great in the box and should build up ok. As for the CH-53 have a gander here https://www.scalemates.com/products/reviews.php?scale=1%3A72&topic=Sikorsky+H-53

Question time folks, what is going on in this photo - I know, but do you?

C'mon, surely one of you guys are working on or thinking about building a NACA/NASA C-47!

The Naca/Nasa Mess has run out of Salt so they sent a crew out to replenish their Salt shakers.

Is this when the Apollo Astronauts were taken out for Geology training before the later Moon missions?
