No Fire-bombers for me but I do have three Douglasses on the go:

A DC 7C being converted from the Heller DC-6B (Gonna be Alitalia)
A DC-6 also being converted from a DC-6B and (Gonna be TEAL)
a straight DC-6B dunno what its gonna be, probs ANA

After pulling out some kits for TOR, I opened the Tristar box and started on that too.. (1/100) gonna be Cathay Pacific>

None of these will be finished by the time we leave for the UK, be nice to have them all in primer by then though

Really nice choices there Wal, I love the CX scheme on the Tristar, just about the longest civil operator of them as well

All of em looking awesome Wal!!!!
Especially interested in that L1011.....I look forward to watching it's progress. Just a hint with the Nitto/Doyusha L1011 kit though.....you will need to slightly modify the RB211 engines to be more representative of the production standard, (the kit engines represent those seen on the prototype L1011 and are slightly different to the production standard power plants).
Are doing your own CX decals???

Hi TOR thanks for heads up on RB211s, but I am not familiar enough with the type to worry about it, it's gonna be out of the box for me, wheels up on a stand. Ray Charles of 26decals will be coming up with the Cathay decals soon

cheers

An L1011 in flight is just so graceful and elegant......she really is a beautiful aeroplane, perhaps the best looking wide-body jet ever built. A big 1:100 CX L1011 siting on her stand will be a most impressive model, (especially if she has been sprinkled with some "wally magic").

I'd have given that title to the Caravelle. The French knew how to make elegant looking airliners.

nice fuselage on them but wing shape a bit "planky" not quite right to my eye

And then they went ahead and built that god-aweful, butt-ugly A380 :? ....what the hell were they thinking 8-)
