I just consigned a Mach Breguet Alize to my rubbish bin, but I finished the Airfix/Heller Concorde. There is no comparison. In the Airfix kit the wheels at least look like wheels and the cockpit canopy bears some resemblance to the real thing. Still, it took me two or three years to finish the Concorde which avoided the rubbish bin only because I has paid so much for it and already invested so much time in it. So, I can fully understand the sentiment.

I too finished that Concorde, mine was Heller because I wanted to make the Air France version. I have tossed a few Mach 2 kits in the bin including their Caravelle, Alize and Ecuriel. I also attempted the Bropan Falcon 50 and that too ended up in the bin. It's not such a bad vacform kit but the plastic is far too thin. So, congratulations on getting that Piaggio completed. I'm still hopeful of a resin kit of it one of these days.
